Justin V. Sumner has been named a partner of the litigation law firm, Sumner Schick. Sumner joined the firm in 2006 after graduating from law school. Since joining the firm 12 years ago, he has focused his practice on civil and complex commercial litigation. He represents clients in the areas of breach of contract, tortious interference, trade secrets, fraud, breach of noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements, competitor misconduct, employment disputes, premises liability, and various consumer protections and plaintiff’s claims. Sumner spearheads the firm’s growing Qui Tam practice, representing both corporations and whistleblowers in multi-million-dollar Qui Tam lawsuits. In 2016, he made national news by securing a multimillion dollar settlement with the state and federal governments on behalf of a whistleblower in a Medicaid fraud case.
“Justin has been with our firm since the beginning of his career, and over the years we’ve witnessed him grow into an exceptional trial lawyer. He has been a driving force behind the firm’s expansion into the Qui Tam litigation arena and has already proven himself to be an integral member of the Sumner Schick team,” said Steve Sumner, his father and founding principal of the firm. “We congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion and look forward to watching him reach new heights in the coming years.”
